Arylex Active

Developing effective, safe and sustainable solutions for agriculture and food production is not an easy task, and the time between concept and market launch in this industry is often measured in decades.

Given the innovative characteristics of the herbicide Arylex Active, it’s not surprising that the R&D process behind it has been ongoing since 1999. Seventeen years sounds like a long time to devote to an herbicide, but Dow AgroSciences (DAS) is more than prepared for this sort of long-term commitment; its parent company, Dow Chemical, has been in business since 1897, and their agricultural division went into operation in the 1950s.

It officially became Dow AgroSciences in 1997, just two years before their team of scientists discovered a new structural class of HRAC Group O herbicides: the arylpicolinate class of synthetic auxins.
