My research focuses on the labor market experiences of individuals with low incomes in the United States, and policies that attempt to influence those experiences. This focus encompasses job training and workforce development policies, local and regional economic development and job creation activities, labor market regulations and organizational human resources practices that influence job quality and quantity, and income support policies intended to supplement or replace labor market earnings and prevent poverty.
