Development of genetic algorithm routine to retrieve aerosol optical properties (refractive index, absorption cross section, single scattering albedo etc.) from single scattering measurements.
Laboratory ice cloud visible and near infrared reflection and transmission measurements.
Measurement of ice cloud microphysics in the laboratory.
Design, construction and operation of optical/electronic instrumentation to make single scattering measurements of ice and water particles. Includes the incorporation of embedded CPU’s for automation.
Design, construction and operation of optical/electronic instrumentation for laser beam extinction measurements.
