Professional Expertise



 Development of genetic algorithm routine to retrieve aerosol optical properties (refractive index, absorption cross section, single scattering albedo etc.) from single scattering measurements.

 Laboratory ice cloud visible and near infrared reflection and transmission measurements.

 Measurement of ice cloud microphysics in the laboratory.

 Design, construction and operation of optical/electronic instrumentation to make single scattering measurements of  ice and water particles.  Includes the incorporation of embedded CPU’s for automation.

 Design, construction and operation of optical/electronic instrumentation for laser beam extinction measurements.
