Benjamin N. Johnson
I am in my second graduate year in the Clinical Psychology program at Penn State. I was born in Pomona, CA, but spent most of my life in the sunny South, near Atlanta, GA. I received my B.A. from Emory University in 2012 with a double major in Psychology and English. Afterwards, I spent two years as a Research Coordinator in the Emory Child and Adolescent Mood Program working with adolescents and young adults with symptoms of borderline personality disorder (BPD). My recreational interests include cooking, writing, playing piano and guitar, and being barefoot.
I am fascinated by the complexity and difficulty of working with borderline personality pathology. I am interested in translational research on BPD, specifically in understanding the developmental trajectory of this disorder in order to design and implement effective early interventions. I am currently utilizing both an attachment theoretical framework and ecological momentary assessment to better understand BPD and its correlates.
