Ben's background is in rugby, having worked at London Wasps in 2002-5 and then part time with Blackheath 2006-2011.

Ben's interests lie in a high performance rehabilitation setting where he worked for 2 years at the Olympic Medical Institute for the British Olympic Association 2005-2007.

In the last 5 years, Ben has developed a specialist interest in the Athletic Shoulder and has co-written a Shoulder Course for Physiotherapists in this area as well as more recently setting up a Shoulder Consultancy through Wimbledon Clinics at Parkside Hospital

In terms of education, Ben graduated as a Physiotherapist in 1997 from the University of Birmingham BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy. Ben undertook his MSc in Physiotherapy with an interest in Injection Therapy & Manual techniques at Middlesex MSc Orthopaedic Medicine, which he completed in 2006. He is currently an Honorary Lecturer in a part time capacity on the MSc Sports Medicine, Exercise & Health at UCL, where he is a Module Co-Leader on the Rehabilitation & Upper Limb modules.

Ben's desire to undertake the MSc in Strength & Conditioning at St Mary's is based on a wealth of positive interactions with Strength & Conditioning colleagues with a specific interest in the rehabilitation continuum and injury prevention. As a secondary objective, obtaining an enhanced understanding of loading and biomechanics to underpin the practical aspects of the course will have a major impact on future work in high performance settings as part of an inter-disciplinary team.
