Teaching Experience

Art Teacher (Uniondale Summer Arts Program 2012) - July 9, 2012 – August 9, 2012

Uniondale School District Grades 3-10 (Uniondale, NY). Developed innovative lesson plans for art courses using the iPad. Within individual classes, student grades ranged from 3rd to 10th grade. Tailored lessons to be age appropriate. Taught lessons on perspective, Native American crafts, lanyard crafts, Optical art and illusions and pointillism. Organized a district art show for parents, faculty and community members. Taught children how to create murals for a Kenyan charity and set design for the final Uniondale school production.

Elementary Science Teacher 1-5 (Full Time Substitute Replacement) - March 30, 2012 – June 11, 2012

Uniondale School District – Walnut Street Elementary School (Uniondale, NY). Taught science lesson plans for classes at the Elementary levels. Participated in Worked alongside faculty. Taught lessons on Plant and Animal Life cycles, Volcanic formation, Rock Cycles, Plant parts and photosynthesis, Earth layers, and the water cycle.

Art Teacher K-5 (Full Time Leave Replacement) February – March 22, 2012 

Uniondale School District – Walnut Street Elementary School (Uniondale, NY). Developed lesson plans for art classes at the Elementary levels. Participated in Faculty meetings, and maintained the responsibilities of a full-time teacher within the Uniondale School district. Taught lessons on Symmetry and Pointillism and guided students toward production of exceptional work during those units.

Substitute Teacher K-5 (Per Diem)September 2011-Present 

Uniondale School District (Uniondale, NY), Evergreen Charter School (Hempstead, NY).  • Taught as a substitute teacher in all elementary school subjects in all grade levels. Provided push in support for teachers during lessons and maintained the responsibilities of full time teachers within the schools.

Uniondale High School (Uniondale, NY), Lindenhurst School District (Lindenhurst, NY), Evergreen Charter School (Hempstead, NY). Developed innovative lesson plans for art courses using the iPad. Supervised by Dalva Yaron. Focused on utilizing new technology to deliver instruction efficiently and clearly to students in grades 9-12 (Uniondale High School).
