EDUCATION
Ph.D., Mechanical Engineering, 2009
Florida Atlantic University, Boca Raton
GPA: 3.6
• Dissertation title: Study of Pulsing Flow of Reactants in a Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cell (PEFC)
• Analysis of the physical parameters involved in power performance on fuel cells under pulsing flow of reactants.
• Performed modeling using finite elements analysis (ANSYS) and computational fluid dynamics CFD FLUENT, as well as a C++ user defined function for multiphase flow interaction on serpentine channels to simulate water blockage.
• Generated parametric grid for air water interaction to simulate water blockage.
• Generated LabView based control systems, for PEFC, to pulse reactant flows (by varying signal frequency, duty cycle, and/or phase shift between valves on the intake and exhaust) as a function of fuel cell power output.
• Study and analysis of physical parameters involved with thermal fluid mass transfer and mass transport.
• Design and developing of studies to determine effects of pulsing hydrogen and air flows on PEFC power output performance.
• Design and implementation of controller based on power tracking and pulsing of reactants
• Monitor and control flow meters, pressure transducers, thermocouples, flow regulators, and solenoid valves.
• Manipulate inlet and outlet reactant conditions to improve PMFC power performance using data acquisition software and feedback control systems
• Perform mathematical optimizations of power performance in PMFC.
Master of Science, Mechanical Engineering, 2006
Florida Atlantic University, Boca Raton
GPA: 3.5
• Thesis topic: Analysis of factors that contributed to the sound generated by airboats by determining the frequencies that contribute with and increase the sound generated by airboats by factorial analysis, statistical modeling, and sound spectrum analysis using factorial analysis.
• Study of propeller blades and their aero acoustic effect.
Bachelor of Science, Mechanical Engineering, 2004
