Ariane Beldi

I'm a Ph.D. candidate in Media & Communication Studies at the University of Strasbourg, France. I'm working on the role played by the DVD as an interface of technological and textual translation in the reception of TV series distributed around the world. My case-study concerns the textual and technological reception of Japanese anime DVD. In general, I'm interested in the appropriation of media technologies and how these process affect the way we relate to each others as humans and to our surrounding world. I'm particularly interested in issues of culture, identity and history.
