Aagje Ieven
As research coordinator at EuroHealthNet, Aagje is mainly responsible for coordination of the EU Research Programme Project “Tackling the Gradient: Applying Public Health Policies to Effectively Reduce Health Inequalities amongst Families and Children”, carried out by a research consortium of 12 European partners. Her work includes research activities, as well as project administration and consortium management. Within EuroHealthNet, her role is to feed research into the organization’s work.
Background
Aagje joined EuroHealthNet at the start of the Gradient project in April 2009. Her background is in Health (BA Medicine), Political Philosophy (MA Thesis on Gender Equity) and Law (currently finalizing a PhD in Human Rights). She studied at University of Leuven, Radboud University, Nijmegen and Columbia University, New York and is an associated researcher at University of Leuven. Her practical experience generates from her voluntary involvement with the Flemish section of Amnesty International, both in the Board of Directors (2007-2009) and in the International Policy Committee (2007 to date).
