Installing Zotero Word Processor Plugins for Zotero 2.0
This page is for users of Zotero 2.0. For word processor plugins for other versions of Zotero, see the appropriate page.
The word processor plugins are distributed as Firefox extensions, which provide integration support to Zotero and install the necessary components into the word processors. After you have installed a plugin from this page, Firefox will prompt you to install later versions automatically the same way that it does for Zotero.
Former Zotero 1.0.x users: Word and OpenOffice documents with citations inserted with the Zotero 1.0 plugins need to be upgraded to use them with the Zotero 2.0 plugins. Upgraded documents can no longer be used with Zotero 1.0.x. When upgrading documents, always refresh and save the documents on the same computer (and the same Firefox profile) that was used with the Zotero 1.0 plugins. This copy of your Zotero database should also be used as the initial source for Zotero 2.0 syncing. Upgrading on a different computer with a synced copy of your Zotero library can result in mismatched citations.

Word 2008 and 2011 users: Zotero integrates into Word 2008 and 2011 through Word's AppleScript menu, rather than through a toolbar.

Then start OpenOffice and check for the toolbar.
Linux users: Zotero requires either the Sun Java plugin or the older OpenJDK/IcedTea OJI plugin, which does not work with Firefox 3.6+. For information on installing the Sun Java plugin on Ubuntu or Arch Linux, see the troubleshooting page. For information on installing the Sun Java plugin on Fedora, see this site. Due to missing functionality in the OpenJDK/IcedTea NPRuntime plugin, we are unable to support this platform at the present time.
