Before you post that a translator is not working, try these steps:

1. Make sure you have the latest available translators by clicking “Update Now” in the General pane of the Zotero preferences. If the button displays “Updated”, reload the page that was failing and try saving again. If the button displays “Up-to-date”, you already had the latest available translators. (Zotero automatically checks for updated translators every 24 hours.)
2. Make sure you have the latest version of Firefox.
3. Make sure you have the latest version of Zotero available from zotero.org.
4. If you see a Zotero icon in the Firefox address bar when viewing a supported web page, hover your cursor over the icon. This will tell you which translator Zotero thinks it should use for the site you are viewing. If the displayed translator is incorrect, post the site name, a URL, and the name of the incorrectly detected translator to the Zotero forums. Note that “Embedded RDF” is a generic translator that may appear for many sites, and Zotero will not be able to save automatically from all sites on which it appears.
5. If you are having chronic problems getting Zotero to work across multiple sites, you may have an extension conflict. First, check if you have any Incompatible Extensions installed. If not, try disabling all Firefox add-ons except Zotero. To do this, open the Tools menu, click “Add-ons”, and click “Disable” for every add-on, and then restart Firefox. If this solves the problem, re-enable the add-ons one-by-one until you find the conflict, and then post the name of the add-on that was causing the issue to the forums.
6. If disabling other extensions doesn't fix the problem, you may have a problem with your translator database. Open the Advanced pane of the Zotero preferences and click the button labeled “Reset Translators and Styles…”, and then reload a page that was failing and try saving again.
7. If resetting translators doesn't fix the error, you may have a more general problem with your Zotero database. Return to the Advanced pane of the Zotero prefs and click “Check Database Integrity”. If errors are found, use the DB Repair Tool to fix them.

If none of these solutions solve your problem, please make a new thread in the Site Translators category and provide the name of the site, a URL of an entry that is not working, and any other information you see as relevant.
