Rainer Schmidt is a full professor of business information systems at the Munich University of Applied Sciences. He holds a Ph.D. from KIT Karlsruhe and a degree in Computer Science. His research interests encompass AI-based assistants, platforms, ecosystems, social information systems, business process management, and the integration of these themes. Professor Schmidt is co-organizer of the minitrack Artificial Intelligence-based Assistants and Platforms at HICSS, the BPMDS working conference, the HCIS conference, the BPMS2 workshop series, and the SoEA4EE workshop series. He frequently contributes to the program committees of workshops and conferences and co-edits special issues for multiple journals.
