Colin Odden

I'm a graduate student in the Department of Sociology at Ohio State University, where I started Autumn 2010. I also work for OSU's Initiative in Population Research.

From 2000-2010 I worked in university IT, providing technical support to social science faculty and students, and 1998-2000 I worked for OSU's (now-defunct) Center for Survey Research. I've worked for UN-ESCWA, I ran a cooperatively managed audio recording studio for a couple years, and have filled my short life with exciting side projects in survey research.

Social network analysis and the demographic correlates of individual behavior and small structures are close to my heart, but I've got a burgeoning interest in text analysis thanks to the the influence of some very smart people. When I have time to think about it, I enjoy writing about the economic context of waste and the incoherent line between dirty and clean things and how that relates to resources and chaff.
