Abstract The article offers information concerning the social aspects of downsizing an organization and the management of employees who remain with a company after layoffs. Research indicates that employee dysfunction can reduce creativity, disrupt the flow of information across social networks, and increase stress and employee turnover. The author says that high-performing employees need special attention that might prevent job dissatisfaction.
